Hanukah

Last Friday Hanukah started. In Hanukah there are eight days. For every day you light one candle. You light it on a menorah. There are nine candle slots. Even know there are eight days in Hanukah you light nine candles. The ninth candle is always lit at night. Usually you get presents on Hanukah but I don't get presents. I only light the menorah. I only get presents for Christmas.

Some people spell Hanukah like Chanukah ( Hanukah). Most people spell it like I do. I love celebrating Hanukah!

Do you celebrate Hanukah?

Do you put candles on a menorah?

Dear Nick,

It was fantastic to see your smiling face on Skype this morning! I hope you enjoyed skyping with 2KM!

Thank you for your post on Hanuakah because no one in our class had heard of Hanukah or knows anyone who celebrates it. It is great to learn about different celebrations.

@ Miss McGeady,

I did enjoy skyping with you guys in 2KM. Since in Hanukah you get presents I don't because I celebrate Christmas and I get presents then.

Sincerely,
Nick

Dear Nick,

I celebrate Chanukah, and I only got a present on the first and last night this year, but last year I got presents on every night! Lighting the menorah is what I did every night of Chanukah this year. Waiting is what I will not do for Chanukah. I want to celebrate it again and again and again. I love Chanukah. What was your favorite part of Chanukah? Did you light all of the candles each night?

Your friend,
Kayla
